This is was project MERCi established with local residents, community groups, schools and local businesses in 2000. Whilst greening and beautifying the area we also shared skills and experiences about a wide range of issues from gardening and nutrition to carpentry and video production.
In 2001 the local community secured recognition from Britain in Bloom of the hard work and community involvement sustained over the year during and won the award in a new category of Urban Regeneration.
