WHO WE ARE
We are an independent charity (established in 1996) working to turn ideas into action for a sustainable future - by this we mean a future that is greener, safer, healthier and equitable.
This website will give you information about our projects as well as help and advice on how you can get involved in creating a more sustainable future.
If you are a business or group interested in working in partnership with us please contact our Executive Director here.
WHAT WE DO
MERCi runs many projects that are helping to deliver a sustainable future. We began by buying a semi-derelict silk mill in Ancoats and restoring it into Bridge 5 Mill. The Mill now hosts other organisations working for sustainability and social justice and is also Manchester's most sustainable conference venue. Click on the links to the right for information on all our projects.
WHY WE DO IT
There is global consensus that climate change is real. The oil that we have based our lives on is becoming more difficult and more polluting to extract, our soils are degraded, our wildlife is being destroyed, people are still living in poverty and our financial systems are collapsing.
